About NonAlcoholicReviews.com
My name is Alex, and I’ve been on both sides of this.
In 2023 I stopped drinking. Not because I had to, but because I wanted to see what life looked like without it. I made it 440 days before I started drinking again, and after about a year of that I decided I was done. For good this time. I’m now 100+ days in.
One of the things that made those 440 days actually work was NA beer. Not as a consolation prize, not as a sad substitute, but as something I genuinely looked forward to. Having something cold in my hand at a backyard barbecue, something that felt like a beer without being a beer, made the social stuff manageable. It gave me a ritual without the consequences.
When I came back to sobriety, I went looking for a good resource to help me navigate what had become a much bigger NA market than the one I left. What I found was a lot of Reddit threads, a few lifestyle blogs, and a bunch of affiliate roundups that clearly had never tasted anything they were recommending. Nobody was doing what I actually needed: an honest, searchable, organized database of NA drinks with real reviews from someone who drinks this stuff because it matters to them.
So I built it.
I’m a runner, which means I care about what I put in my body. Every review on this site comes from my own experience with the product. I rate things on overall quality, not on how well they pretend to be alcoholic versions. If something is good, I’ll tell you. If it’s not worth your money, I’ll tell you that too.
This site exists because NA beer helped keep me sober, and I want to make it easier for the next person to find the good stuff faster than I did.
How I review
I buy most products myself or pick them up at local stores around Chicago. When a brand sends me something to try, I’ll say so in the review. Either way, my opinion doesn’t change based on where it came from.
I taste everything on its own terms. I’m not asking whether an NA IPA tastes exactly like a regular IPA. I’m asking whether it’s good, whether I’d buy it again, and whether it’s worth your money. I look at flavor, carbonation, aroma, finish, and how it actually feels to drink it in a real situation, not just a tasting setting.
Ratings are mine. Nobody pays for a better score.
A note on affiliate links
Some links on this site are affiliate links, mostly to NA-focused retailers like Zero Proof and Proof No More. If you buy something through one of those links, I earn a small commission at no extra cost to you. I only link to products I’ve actually tried or would buy myself. The database entries without personal reviews are there for reference, not because I’m pushing you toward them.
